The organizers of the ASB annual meeting were fortunate to receive over 500 abstracts from the full spectrum of biomechanics topics. These abstracts will be presented in four parallel oral presentation tracks (3 podiums + 1 thematic poster), two 3-hour poster sessions, four invited symposia, and plenary addresses. Please use the above links to navigate through the details of the ASB 2012 program.

Unique highlights in this year’s ASB technical program are:

·         Thematic Poster Sessions to have increased discussion among all session participants (presenter, session chairs, and audience) on papers organized under specific themes.

·         Quickie Research Studies to utilize the large pool of conference attendees while exploring cutting edge research questions with experiments that take 5-15 minutes per participant.

·         Best Student Poster competition to acknowledge the best Doctoral, Master, and Undergraduate posters presented during the General Poster Sessions. (Registration for competition was completed during abstract submission.)

ASB 2012 is the 36th annual meeting of the American Society of Biomechanics. The meeting will feature stimulating scientific sessions, comfortable conference facilities, and various social opportunities in a relaxed, academic setting. The University of Florida is proud to welcome you to Gainesville, Florida, for ASB 2012! The meeting will be held from Wednesday, August 15, 2010 to Saturday, August 18, 2012.

New Note: Although free wireless internet access is available throughout the conference hotel, you are strongly encouraged to check and download updated meeting proceedings and abstracts from the ASB 2012 website prior to attending the conference. In an effort to keep conference costs down, no electronic versions of the proceedings or abstracts (e.g. USB thumb drives or CDs) will be provided at the meeting.

Note: Mid-August in Florida is hot and humid with chances of afternoon thundershowers. Feel free to dress like a native Floridian in comfortable attire, but bring a sweater since the indoor facilities will be air conditioned.
