SIMULIA Computational Biomechanics Awards

The following awards, funded through the generosity of Simulia, are intended to recognize meritorious research in the area of computational biomechanics. Simulia will present them at a special awards session of the annual ASB meeting.

(1) SIMULIA Computational Biomechanics Best Paper Award: The ASB Awards Committee selects the winner of this award in advance of the annual meeting, based solely on the quality of the submitted abstract. The work described in the abstract must involve computational biomechanics, but need not use a Simulia product. Abstract review is first handled by the Program Committee, and then the Awards Committee chooses from among the most highly scored abstracts in computational biomechanics, giving out the award only if sufficiently meritorious work is submitted. The award consists of an engraved plaque and a check for $1,000.

(2) SIMULIA Computational Biomechanics Student Award: This is a targeted student poster award. The Program Committee first handles abstract review, and then the authors of candidate abstracts are notified in advance of the annual meeting. In order to be eligible to receive the award, an abstract must have a student member as first author, and the student must present the poster at the annual meeting. The ASB Awards Committee selects the three winners of the award at the meeting, based on a review of the posters and discussions with presenters. The award consists of an engraved plaque and a check for $500.
