Mission of the ASB Student Representative

  • To further student involvement in the society, act as a liaison, and ensure that all pertinent information from student members is conveyed to the executive board.
  • To further student interaction as well as establish contacts among students for jobs and educational opportunities. 
  • To further student involvement at the annual meeting, and promote interaction and discussion among the participants. 
  • To further student participation in award competitions. 
  • To collaborate with both the executive board and the educational committee to further the interests of the society.
Duties of the ASB Student Representative
  • Serve as a voting member of the executive board
  • Serve as a member of the education committee and collaborate with the Education Chair in planning tutorials and education related events during Annual Meeting 
  • Attend meetings of the executive board (annual meeting, mid-year meeting, and annual business meeting)
  • Collaborate with the Program and Meeting Chairs to schedule the student meeting and student events at the Annual Meeting
  • Chair student meeting and other student activities held at the Annual Meeting 
  • Present new Student Representative (at student meeting during Annual Meeting)
  • Provide the executive board and incoming Student Representative with a written report of tasks completed during the past year and suggestions and/or goals for incoming student representatives
